What makes our nursing necklaces safe?

Each unique Booby Beads nursing necklace is beaded by hand, with no two nursing necklaces being alike. All products used have been carefully selected, to ensure the safety of your child. We ONLY use non toxic acrylic beads! 

We are thrilled to announce that we have added safety clasps and stronger cording to our nursing necklaces. Based on customer feedback, we realized that no matter how safe a product is, there is no such thing as too safe when dealing with young children.

Our safety clasp is disguised as a bead that simply pops apart if too much pressure is exerted, either by a young child pulling or in the event that a nursing necklace gets caught, minimizing the risks associated with the nursing necklace. When the clasp comes apart simply snap it back together to be used again and again.

As tempting as it is to snap and unsnap the safety clasp on the nursing necklace (e.g. to add a teething toy or something similar) it probably isn't a good thing. As time goes on with wear and tear it will loose it's grip and no longer hold properly. So please use it for only a safety feature. 

Our cording, gives us a distinct advantage of our competition. This strong cording is ten times stronger than steel and does not have the stretch that standard cording allows. This prevents beads from shifting & rubbing which makes our nursing necklaces virtually unbreakable.

We're so confident in this new cording on our nursing necklaces, that we offer a restringing guarantee if a necklace was to break.

Some of our competitors use a mixture of glass and acrylic beads and hemp cording on their nursing necklaces.  Glass beads can chip and break. Hemp cording is known to get soggy, smelly and then easily breakable. Yuck!

Also many nursing necklace competitors state that they do not have a clasp as it could open and injure your child in some way.  While nursing necklaces should only be used with an adult present, we all know that kids somehow manage to find a way to get into everything!  I feel much more comfortable knowing that my nursing necklaces have a breakaway clasp that will open right away should your child manage to get tangled up in it.

If my children did get ahold of it and were pulling on it, I'd much rather it just come apart at a clasp then break and have beads flying everywhere presenting a choking hazard.

So with all this in mind you can see that Booby Beads nursing necklaces are quite safe and are built to stand the test of time.

No child should be left unsupervised with any type of jewelry because of the risk of possible strangulation or choking.
