What colors does my baby see?
This gives you an idea as to what colors are the best to use for your nursing necklaces This is the colors your baby sees during the first several months in their life.
Newborn: Newborns may not focus accurately, they can best see objects that are 8-10 inches away. They can detect light and dark but cannot distinguish all colors. High-contrast patterns (black & white) and bright colors captivate her because they're the easiest for her to see. That's why sensory toys are best. |
One Month: Your baby may stare at objects but will not reach for them. They are aware of differences in textures. Different geometric shapes and complex patterns, like checkerboards, concentric circles, stripes rather than plain patterns seem to keep the focused.
Two Months: Your baby may hold an object briefly before letting go. They enjoy watching 3-D objects and use their eyes to track an object going from side to side.
Three Months: Your baby's full color vision should be developed. They can see hues and light shades. They can distinguish various colors (especially red and green) but the vision is still in a rudimentary form. They can see small objects and will grasp things voluntarily.
Four Months +: Your baby can see all colors can focus on objects at a distance and has begun to develop depth perception now. They can see all colors and will show an interest in the sight of a toy.
